- Students ages 4 - 12 have the option to do either half or full day camp.
- Students are grouped according to their age.
- We will have a variety of engaging and age appropriate activities to make learning fun in a welcoming and inviting environment.
- In a small class, our teachers will have the opportunity to listen, interact, and encourage each student to contribute his/her own ideas
while bringing enthusiasm and class participation.
The weekly themes are as follows:
Session 1 - July 5th - 9th: Pequeños Turistas (Little Tourists)
Vamos de viaje! (Let’s go on a trip). In this fun and inspiring camp our students will learn to express possession with
the verb “tener”, “llevar”, and “traer” (to have, to carry, and to bring) by pretending going “a la playa” (to the
beach), “a campar” (going camping), “a las montañas” (to the mountains), Some of the question we will ask include,
“Tienes una linterna?, llevas una gorra?, traes agua?. Each day plan reinforces a series of particular questions and
vocabulary.
Session 2 – July 12th - 16th: Jugando y Aprendiendo con Agua (Playing and Learning with Water)
What a great summer theme! Let’s cool down and join us in this wonderful and super fun week filled with lots of
water activities. We will make “un rio en la arena” (a river in the sand), make raspados (ice sherbet) and pretend to
sell and buy “jugos y limonas de frutas” (fruit juice and lemonade). Other activities include, “regar las
plantas” (watering the plants), “bañar las muñecas” (bathing dolls), “lavar laropa y los autos” (washing clothes and
cars), as well as doing some fun water games. Learn by doing and interacting is one of the best ways to grasp and
learn build up the language. Come to join us. You will have a great time!
Session 3 - July 19th - 23rd Cocineros Creativos (Creative Chefs):
Teachers will interact with the children as
they decorate their own apron and chef hat. Then, we will cook together and follow the recipe in Español! Then, we
all participate by putting the ingredients together. (But not dealing with the oven!). In addition, children will learn
about names of food, silverware, and carrying short dialogs with each other such as, “Puedo tener una
cuchara?” (Can I have a spoon?), “Necesitas ayuda?” (Do you need help?). Finally, students will show their
parents how to make one of their favorite recipe on the day of their show. Students will take home the recipes along
with their finished cooking project.
Session 4 - July 26th - 30th Pequeños Cientificos (Young Scientists)
This is a great camp for curious young children who love science. The children will learn that their actions generate a
result. They will naturally explore their senses, creativity expression, hand/eye coordination, and listening skills.
Some of the exciting science experiments are about “sonido, luz, viento, energia magnética, temperatura, solidos,
liquidos, gases, y sombras entre otros” (sound, light, wind, magnetic energy, temperature, solids, liquids, gases, and
shadows among others).
Session 5 - August 2nd – 6th: El Mundo Animal (The Animal World)
This is an amazing learning and fun summer camp for those kids who love animals! Children will not only learn about
animals habitats, the food chain, and description with stories, visual props, songs, indoor and outdoor play , but they
will also pretend to take a trip to the farm, Africa, the sea, and the safari. The kids will also play a role of an animal by
dressing up as one of their favorite one each day. Children will make a show for their families on their last day of
camp.
Session 6 - August 9th – 13th: Canto y Movimiento (Singing and Movement)
What a great way to build up and learn a new language! Because rhythm is a very powerful learning tool, we
incorporate songs to highlight vocabulary, sentences, and phrases. Children will make connections of giving
commands while imitating the teachers face and body expressions as they move and dance. Our students will take a
recorded C.D. on the last day of camp with all the songs and rhymes that they will learn during the camp. Your child
will perform some of the songs on Friday, August 13th.
Session 7 - August 16th – 20th: Ciencia, Causa y Efecto (Science, Cause and Effect)
Come and join this hands on science fun week! It will be filled with fun experiments, and individual engaging science
projects. Students get to take the amazing projects they will build home. We will explore a variety of topics that cover
broad science areas like biology, ecology, chemistry, engineering, and geology. All with the great bonus that all
themes are introduced solely en Español!
Session 8 - August 23rd - 27th: Chicos Exploradores (Explorer Kids)
We have planned a series of creative activities for both our “niñas y niños” (girls and boys). We will go on a treasure
hunt, explore making jewelry, look for bugs with magnifying glasses and a telescope, as well as going on space. Some
of the questions include the verb “querer” (to want), “gustar” (to like), “buscar” (to look for), “encontrar” (to find),
and “mirar” (to watch). We will have series of designed activities appeal to a young child sense of discovery and fun.
